Valerie McLaughlin, CEO
Valerie Bennett McLaughlin is an Enrolled Agent Admitted to Practice before the Internal Revenue Service. She started her accounting practice at the age of 24. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. After working for several years with a private firm, she was told that no further advancement opportunities within the company were available for women. As a result, in 1980 she began her practice.
In addition, she has served on the Bowie City Council and the City of Bowie Economic Development Committee, been nominated Business Person of the Year, is a member of the National Society of Accountants, served as Treasurer for YMCA Camp Letts in Annapolis, and sits on the Anne Arundel Community College Business Advisory Board. She is also a member of the Bowie and Annapolis Chambers of Commerce.
She lives with her husband, Clyde McLaughlin, and their rescue kitty, Lucky.
Christina Bennett, CPA
Christina Bennett is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified QuickBooks Pro Advisor. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Salisbury State University and received her Financial Accounting Degree from Anne Arundel Community College.
Christina brought her expertise and knowledge of accounting to the firm in 2007. Christy is also a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the National Association of Enrolled Agents.
Kenneth Fortier, Esq.
Ken Fortier is our attorney licensed to practice in the State of Maryland and Admitted to Practice Before the Internal Revenue Service. Ken graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree from North Carolina State University. He completed his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of New Hampshire School of Law. As the newest member of the Qual-i-Tax team, Ken has become an integral part of our Tax Problem Resolution Practice. Ken is also a member of the American Society of Tax Problem Solvers.
