About the CEO of Qual-i-Tax:

Valerie Bennett McLaughlin started her accounting practice at the age of 24. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. After working for several years with a private firm, she was told that no further advancement opportunities within the company were available for women. As a result, in 1980 she began her practice.

In addition, she has served on the Bowie City Council and the City of Bowie Economic Development Committee, been nominated Business Person of the Year, is a member of the National Society of Accountants, and serves as Treasurer for YMCA Camp Letts in Annapolis. She is also a member of the Bowie and Annapolis Chambers of Commerce.
